The jorōgumo, master of Jōren Falls
What the record says
The master of Jōren Falls is the jorōgumo. A farmer resting at the top of the falls had the spider's thread wound round his leg; he hung the thread on a cut mulberry stump, the earth shook, and the stump was swallowed by the falls.
