Of a person who has drawn someone's grudge and falls ill, people say, "Could the ingami have got into them?" The ingame, the inugami, is kept by particular houses. It can possess cattle and horses as well. Possession by a dog, cat or fox is called murakaze, the village wind; the dog's is the strongest, is called inkaze, and is especially dreaded.
