Beans being washed under the bridge on rainy nights
What the record says
On rainy nights the sound of azuki beans being scrubbed came from under a bridge. It seemed to say "one shō and five gō, shaari-shari," and people were afraid of it. Other bridges in the area were said to have an azuki-arai of their own.
